Check out the teaser here:
Based on the webtoon The Girl Downstairs, Doona! is the upcoming romantic drama about an ordinary college student Lee Won-jun and a retired K-pop idol Lee Doo-na who meet at a shared house.
Doona is directed by Lee Jeong-hyo, who is best known for his direction in the famous Korean drama Crash Landing On You.
In the series, Suzy plays the role of the titular character Doona who used to be the main singer of a popular K-pop group but suddenly announces her retirement and stays in a shared house near a university. Won Jun, played by Yang Se Jong, is the male protagonist of the story. He may seem like an average college student, but his kind and caring nature sets him apart.
In the preview teaser, we see Doona enjoying the morning sunshine while Won Jun gazes at her, implying the beginning of their exciting love story at a shared residence. Doona asks Won-jun to be friends while he wonders, "What goes on in that mind of yours? I’m dying to know." When Doona comments, "You're so cute," Won Jun becomes frozen.
The teaser then shows Won Jun and Doona walking towards a poorly lit tunnel where they lean in for a kiss. In the backdrop, Doona's voice can be heard saying, "I’m telling you this just in case, but don’t fall for me either."
The makers also dropped three posters. The poster showcases flirtatious dialogue shared between the two characters that playfully alludes to their romantic connection.
